How to Store Sex Toys
Things to do before putting anything in your sex toy storage of choice
- When storing your clean sex toys, you have to make sure your storage space is clean, dry, and dust-free.
- Same thing goes for your sex toys themselves, clean them thoroughly according to their materials and make sure they are fully dry before storing them. Moisture is your enemy here, as this is exactly what nurtures bacteria and mold, which leads to bad odors, or worse!
- Next, plan ahead how you will organize your toys because…
Some toy materials should never touch
Silicone, glass, ABS & body-safe metal toys should be absolutely fine if they are touching. But most other sex toy materials are rather unstable so they should be kept apart from each other & your other toys ( or avoided entirely because they are generally toxic to the human body ).
I would keep Dual-Density silicone dildos apart from other silicone toys as they can make them a touch sticky or slightly deformed.
Of course, this will easily wash off, but keeping them separated will save you some cleaning & disfigurement of your favorite toys.
This is simply because different density silicones interact weirdly with each other, but it’s nothing you should really worry about healthwise.
If you are using a single box for all your toys, just put the unstable & dual-density toys in their own individual storage bags or with some kind of separator/separation between them.

TL;DR
Plastic Storage Bins

If you have a large collection and/or are devoid of nosy roommates or children running around your private quarters, this is a time-tested and classic option for anyone.
It’s also the cheapest option around!
The big advantage is that it’s highly flexible thanks to the variety of sizes on hand:
For example, you could have a single box for everything if your collection is modest or large.
But my favorite option for larger collection is to separate everything in different boxes depending on toy types, materials, and so on.
Why put your paddles and crops with your wands, dildos, and restraints if you don’t have to? It’s only a few dollars difference between a tangled mess and storage heaven!

To keep everything extra clean and to avoid microplastics, I highly suggest lining the bottom of your boxes.
My favorite options for this are satin fabric & microfiber towels.
This also has the advantage of making everything look extra good! Or you could just put your toys in the option below for the perfect cheap storage combo.
WHERE TO BUY
Microfiber Bags

If you only have a few toys or prefer to keep your toys stored individually, I absolutely love using microfiber bags as a nice budget option.
These will prevent your clean toys from getting all dusty or linty between sessions, and they make your toys seem much more luxurious when nicely wrapped up this way.
I also love that these come in a huge variety of sizes, so they can probably accommodate most toys you’ll throw at them.
Do keep in mind that those bags are porous so they won’t protect your toys from any spills that might occur in your nightstand ( I’m looking at you, massage oil and lube spills!! ). And over time, dust will settle in as well, so you might have to rewash your toys before use… depending on how long you wait between your sessions, of course.
WHERE TO BUY
Sugar Sak

Sugar Saks is what would happen if you took your standard microfiber bag and cranked that shit to 11.
It essentially offers all the benefits of the classic option without any of its shortcomings … plus some pretty neat extras to boot.
For one, it’s not porous like your basic microfiber bag, so dust & liquids won’t sneak in and ruin your clean-up job.
But most importantly, it comes with their patented BioShield 75 material, which is anti-microbial without the use of toxins. So there are no health risks involved, and it won’t create resistant superbugs like other non-mechanical solutions!
So if I were you, I’d opt for this option over the above since the investment is not that huge compared to the classic option.
WHERE TO BUY
Liberator Tallulah & Zappa

If you’re looking for a more secure and tidy way of storing your toys in your nightstand this is my favorite option.
Liberator makes two great splash-proof lockable sex toy storage bags that not only look great but are super secure thanks to their lockable double zippers.
A simple feature that allows you to use a small luggage lock and keep roommates, kids, or animals ( I’m looking at you, dogs ) out of your business.

You have two options, the larger Tallulah for bigger collections or the smaller Zappa for the more modest sex toy aficionados.
Just keep in mind that the Tallulah comes with the padlock included, while the Zappa doesn’t! So go grab one off of Amazon or local store if you’re going for the smaller option!
WHERE TO BUY
Dorcel Storage Boxes

If the idea of a storage bag isn’t your bag, may I interest you in a fancy storage box?
Dorcel makes some truly sexy lockable boxes in a few different sizes and budgets. So if aesthetics are important to you, these will definitely scratch that luxurious itch of yours.
All their models come with combination locks, so you don’t have to worry about losing the key and access to your precious toys.
But keep in mind that if stealth is a priority for you, these do kind of scream “box of secrets” more than the options below.
WHERE TO BUY
Lockable Toolboxes

If you’re after absolute stealth without sacrificing functionality, many folks have had luck using Lockable Toolboxes to keep their sex toys away from family and roomies.
Plus, they don’t scream “that’s where I keep the good stuff” at anybody who might be snooping.
In reality, the worst that’ll happen if these are discovered is that folks will believe you’re handy and not big on sharing your tools with just anyone.
My favorite feature is that these usually come with separators included, so it’s pretty awesome if you like to keep your bullet vibes and dildos separated!
Like plastic containers, I would still line these with satin fabric or microfiber towels to avoid scuffing your toys or having microplastics turn your blood cells into Legos!

Just keep in mind that these almost never come with padlocks included, so don’t forget to buy one if you’re serious about keeping your toys away from prying eyes.
WHERE TO BUY
Safes

Looking for something a bit more secure that doesn’t scream “dildos inside”?
Sometimes, padlocks are just not going to cut it if someone near you is curious enough. This is where safes come in!
Hell, if your roommates are bank-robbing-level criminals, most of these can be full on bolted to the wall for extra security. So if they want to bring these to a second safecracking location, they’ll have to work extra hard to know your kinky secrets.
While small safes are pretty affordable, the only disadvantage here is that, if your collection is quite large, prices can rise quite quickly for larger options.
Maybe just get a separate safe if you’re a gun owner because you absolutely don’t want to get confused in the dark! It’s a blow your bits off type of miskate … oooor point a dildo at a home invader type of embarrassment.
